The Legend premieres on GMA-7

In the tradition of showcasing exceptional telenovelas in Philippine television, GMA Network introduces The Legend, its newest program to hit the primetime block that will undoubtedly captivate the Filipino viewer's continued devotion to Koreanovelas.
Following the huge success of Korean dramas Jewel in the Palace and Jumong, The Legend will also be a hit among the loyal supporters of Koreanovelas in the country. With its poignant and heart-rending storyline, gripping and enthralling heroic battle scenes, dramatic visual effects and beautiful cast, The Legend is expected to capture the interest of its viewers.
This drama series boasts was produced in Korea with an approximate cost of 45 billion won or P1.9 billion. This period drama centers on the saga behind the completion of prophecy where a king is destined to be born to save humanity.
Its stars Korean actor Bae Yong Joon in the title role of Dam-Deok, 19th King of Goguryeo. He is a descendant of the mythical king Jumong. Under his leadership, he made Goguryeo as the most powerful nation in East Asia with the help of the four Gods: Cheong-ryong (Blue Dragon), Baek-ho (White Tiger), Joo-jak (Phoenix) and Hyeon-mu (Turtle).
Conflict arises when Hwan-Woong, the son of heavens, came down on earth to rule the Bear Tribe. Ga-Jin, the fire goddess and leader of the differing Tiger Tribe, was infuriated at Hwan-Woong for controlling their land. Soon, a violet war erupted and the four gods secluded themselves from society.
In order to put an end to this continuing battle, a king shall be born to save the warring regions as stated in the prophecy. The Four Gods shall awaken to find their rightful master and help him redeem their once peaceful and bountiful land.
How will Dam-Deok accept the prophecy accorded to him? What is the connection of the prophecy to Jumong? What conflicts is Dam-Deok bound to face as he journeys to fulfil the prophecy?
The Legend's grand unfolding will start weeknights beginning March 10 (Monday) replacing Coffee Prince right after Marimar.
