Its been a long and winding journey!

Hmm? I was actually doing a research from the web(my definition about RESEARCH here is copy-paste..haha). I don't recall the time I started posting in this blog. I don't even know my purpose of putting up a website of my own trough blogger(I'd like to thanks blogger.com for the unraveled support.. hehe). Anyway, I do enjoy posting (nonsense) stuffs here that's why. Like this (nonsense) post. I am trying to come up with a better post but I seem to be not in mood to think about a good topic(God did not bless me a critical and artistic mind eh..hehe). I don't have anything to write really... I am bored with what I am doing. It seems that I am just wasting time and effort here... uh? TIME? What a good topic...nah? TIME? what would I write about? Time is gold? Oldie. Time is important? too bold. Time should be used wisely..? Too practical. Oh oh... I thought of a very very nice topic. And this is: I AM RUNNING OUT OF TIME. Bye! Till then..hehe

Two in a row just this August.

I again attended a seminar last August 23, 2008. I was a day activity( it's just that I came late because I reported to my duty) for eductaion students. The event was held at the Bicol University, Ampitheater Building with the theme " Mabunga at Makabuluhang Filipino: Multidisiplinaring Pagtuturo sa Filipino."

here are things that I learned from that affair:

1. Love to use your own.
**Our own language is the most useful "word" to be used when story-telling. Children will appreciate much and will learn more if they will understand (easily) what we are talking about.

2. An objective to be followed.
**When telling a story, there should be an objective so that we can easily follow an out'draft of what we are going to say or to relate.

3. The voice within.
**Teachers should NOT BE "OODLE-DOODLE" when it comes to speaking. How will the learners understand what you are sharing if you speak on your butt? huh?

4. Picasso Teacher.
**A creative story-teller is loved by most listeners. Not those who are boring-to-death!!

5. One among SIX!
**Among the six school attendees (Bicol University, Sorosogon State Colleges, Divine Word College of Legazpi, San Jose Community College, Aquinas University of Legazpi) AUL stands out... the very first... the most... the super duper... the majestic... NOISY GROUP EVER!!!(I am not included in the roll of noisy fellows, hehe**)

Lesson Planning is also discussed but I don't remeber much on this becuase we focused much on our chikka minutes.hehe

I changed my friendster layout...

All things appear and disappear because of the concurrence of causes and conditions. Nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else.
***
When we cannot bear to be alone, it means we do not properly value the only companion we will have from birth to death - ourselves.
***
Be able to be alone. Lose not the advantage of solitude, but delight to be alone and single with Omnipresence...
***
The man who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The man who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever been.
Note: Watch out for my two coming posts...it is under construction.

Developments in Legazpi

Most visited Public Place in legazpi City:

LIGNON HILL PARK: A majestic hill which is good for mountain hoopers

Here are other developments in Legazpi:

What is a Teacher?

A teacher is someone who sees each child as a unique person and encourages individual talents and strengths.

A teacher looks beyond each child’s face and sees inside their souls.

A teacher is someone with a special touch and a ready smile who takes the time to listen to both sides and always tries to be fair.

A teacher has a caring heart that respects and understands.

A teacher is someone who can look past disruption and rebellion, and recognize hurt and pain.

A teacher teaches the entire child and helps to build confidence and raise self-esteem.

A teacher makes a difference in each child’s life and affects each family and the future of us all.

Magnitude 5.8 quake rocks Bicol provinces

A "moderately strong" earthquake rocked parts of Bicol region Friday night, with state seismologists warning of "possible" damage and aftershocks.Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) director Renato Solidum Jr. said the quake was recorded at 6:35 p.m. and was felt in Albay, Sorsogon and Catanduanes provinces in Bicol; and in the Visayas."Ginagawa ng disaster management sa Bicol kung may effects ang lindol (Disaster management officials in Bicol are now inspecting structures for possible damage)," Solidum told dzBB radio. He said it is also possible that aftershocks may take place, but said a tsunami is unlikely, as there was no "change" monitored in nearby waters.Initial information showed the quake measured magnitude 5.8 with the epicenter south of Catanduanes. and east of Albay and Sorsogon. The quake was felt at Intensity VI in Legazpi City and in Virac, Catanduanes; Intensity V at Sorsogon City and Irosin town in Sorsogon; Intensity III in Naga City and Bulan town in Sorsgon. In the Visayas, Solidum said the quake was felt at Intensity III in Masbate and Roxas City; and at Intensity II in Silay, Negros Occidental. When asked about the possibility of some structures sustaining damage, he said, "posible kung ang structure ay mahina o luma pwede magkaroon ng minor damages yan (Minor damage is possible if the structure is old or weak)."Bella Tubianosa, resident volcanologist of Phivolcs in Sorsogon City, said the earthquake's epicenter was located at 42 kilometers northeast of Sorsogon City with coordinates 13.10 north and 124.36 east with a depth of 15 kilometers. The quake reached intensity 6 in Legaspi City and Virac, Catanduanes, Intensity 5 in Sorsogon City, Intensity 3 in Naga City, Roxas City and Masbate City and Intensity 2 in Silay City.Brownouts were also reported in some areas in Sorsogon but power supply was resrtored immediately. - GMANews.TV

Saint Roch

San Roque or Saint Roch, known as Rocco in Italy and Roque in Spain is patron saint of the sick and invalids. The faithful offer prayers for intercession to San Roque worldwide. We celebrate Saint Roch's feast every third sunday of May and we still celebrate it every 16th day of August (original day of celebration). During the "fiesta" in our barangay( village or the small community next to a municipality), we often held our prusisyon( pilgrimage) in the river with our Patron Saint Statue placed on the Pagoda( a boat that is used during feast celebrations). Mass are held in the evening of the bis peras (the day before the day of celebration, usually saturday in our place) and on the next day.

History:
Roch was born around 1295 to the rich family of the Governor John and his wife Libera in Montpellier, France. Tradition says that Roch had a birthmark with a red cross on his chest.

His father died when he was 12 and his mother died when he was 20. He joined the Franciscan order soon after that and distributed his fortune among the poor and handed the government of Montpellier to his uncle.

Roch then set out for Italy as a mendicant pilgrim at stopped along the way to care for the victims of the plague that was ravaging Italy at that time. At Piacenza Roch fell to but recovered and was reputed to have performed many miracles of healing everywhere he went.

One tradition says that after his recovery, Roch returned to Montepellier, France. He was arrested and accused as a spy dressed as a pilgrim and sent to prison by his uncle who did not recognize him.

He died in prison five years later. It was only when they found the cross on his breast as well as a document found in his possession that they found he was the son of the previous governor (and nephew of the new governor) because of.

When the plague broke out in the city, the Fathers of the Council of Constance ordered prayers and processions in Roch’s honor, and the plague stopped.

San Roque

O BLESSED SAN ROQUE,
Patron of the sick,
Have pity on those
Who lie upon a bed of suffering.

Your power was so great
When you were in this world,
That by the sign of the Cross,
Many were healed of their diseases.
Now that you are in heaven,
Your power is not less.
Offer, then, to God
Our sighs and tears
And obtain for us that health we seek
Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

San Roque, pray for us,
That we may be preserved
From all diseases of body and soul.

the TraNsfeRRing stuff

Many camera generated phones are used in capturing memorable events.( as if I had one) The problem that most of the time occurs is on how we will transfer those stuffs in the PC (personal computer!!!duh!hehe). Here's a piece of tips on how you'll going to move those files to the PC:(for the benefit of Sarsi, my former classmate in HS.hehe)

1.E-mail

Most camera phones have the ability to send photos in the form of an email. Of course, this is the way wireless providers would like you to do it since they get to charge additional fees for sending the picture mail. Normally, wireless providers charge a flat rate to send a picture as an email through their network, but you could also be billed on a per-kilobyte rate for the data used. To e-mail photos to yourself, you'll need to make sure your phone is configured to send e-mails. Most phones purchased from the carrier are setup out of the box, but you'll need to determine that on a per-case basis. The process for selecting an image to send will vary on the individual phone model, so refer to the instructions in your telephone manual for instructions. When you're ready to send the picture, place your e-mail address in the "To:" field, and hit send.

2.Bluetooth
If your phone is equipped with short-range Bluetooth wireless technology, you can often send images to a similarly equipped notebook or desktop computer. The best part about Bluetooth is that images transferred in this manner are completely free to you. Whether you send 1 picture or 50, it's still free. Not all phones are equipped with Bluetooth, but even less computers come with the technology built-in. However, you can add the technology to your computer by purchasing a USB Bluetooth module from a local electronics retailer. Don't worry about it being expensive, considering most modules retail for about $25( that is 1, 123 Philippine Peso based on the August 15, 2008 exchange rate) .Sending photos to a computer using Bluetooth is fairly simple... once you pair the phone to your computer. Sometimes the pairing process goes smoothly, and sometimes it doesn't. Either way, once you've gotten the two talking to each other, sending images to and from the phone is a snap. On top of this, Bluetooth allows you to send images and files to other Bluetooth phones without wires or charges. Not all Bluetooth phones will be able to send images to a computer. Some carriers disable the file transfer profile before the phone is sent to the stores for sale, thereby forcing the users to either buy a data kit or send e-mails. This is what's referred to as the "no free lunch" approach to customer service. It's reasonable for them to assume that most would not spend fifty-dollars on an accessory, so they'll get to charge your account for every picture you send or make a monthly fee on a picture package.

3.Data Cable
Any phone that has a built-in camera will most likely be able to connect to a computer via a USB data connection kit. Data kits are phone specific, so you'll need to make sure you get the correct one for your model phone. The kit includes the cable that plugs your phone into your computer's USB jack, as well as software to assist in transferring files to and from the phone. Once connected, you'll have the same file transfer abilities as you would with Bluetooth, except with a wire. Unfortunately, you cannot transfer images to anything but a computer, so don't expect to move a picture from your phone to a friend's. Though data connect kits are often more expensive than Bluetooth modules, they do transfer files at a faster speed.

4.Removable Memory Cards
Many newer phones have a slot for an external memory cards, especially models with higher resolution cameras. Since the images are stored on a removable memory card, transferring images to the computer is a breeze. All you need to do is pick up an external memory card reader from a local electronics store. You'll need to know what kind of card your phone uses before you go shopping to make sure the reader you buy supports the correct format. Once your card reader is in place, merely remove the memory card from your phone, and insert it into the card reader. The computer will recognize the card and assign it a drive letter. Actually moving images is as easy as using the "cut and paste" commands in Windows Explorer. Just reinsert the card back into the phone when you're ready to take new pictures.

YANG wins gold! And he deserves a standing ovation for this pic!",)

"I don't have time to be interviewd later so ask for questions now." This was the answer of Yang when we had our ambush interview with him in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. I was a bit shy that time because of the expression showed by Yang(as if he's having his monthly period-if he has.hehe). I did not get the whole story about Yang's victory so I just asked for my friend Nick Friedell to send me his latest article about Yang.(I was just imagining how it feels like covering a game in the prestigious 2008 Olympics.hehe)

(BEIJING, August 14) -- China's Yang Wei proved that he is the world's best all-round gymnast today by winning the gold medal in the Men's All-Around.
Yang entered the final rotation with a comfortable lead over the rest of the field. The lead was a tremendous advantage for Yang, who knew he did not need to excel on his weakest apparatus, the Horizontal Bar.
Yang performed well in the Rings, the Vault and the Parallel Bars. His 16.625 in the Rings was only bettered by his compatriot Chen Yibing, who pulled out of his last rotation and finished last.
Yang finished with a total of 94.575 points, which was a long way ahead of silver medalist Uchimura Kohei of Japan who scored a total of 91.975. Uchimura will rue his mistake-ridden performance in the Pommel Horse, where he finished with 13.275 - the worst score of any competitor.
The bronze medal was won by French dark horse Benoit Caranobe, who scored a total of 91.925 points. Caranobe was the ninth-highest-ranking gymnast in the qualification phase, but an outstanding performance in the Vault secured the bronze medal. Caranobe was the top-ranking gymnast on the apparatus, scoring 16.600.
Germany's Fabian Hambuechen, who was seen as the only real rival to Yang, performed poorly today. Hambuechen was clearly upset after a bad performance in the Vault. He finished seventh with a total of 91.675.
Japan's Tomita Hiroyuki would have been a chance to win a medal if he had not fallen from the Rings. Due to the fall, Tomita could only manage a score of 13.850 on the apparatus. He was the best-performed gymnast in the Horizontal Bar and finished with a total score of 91.750.

I just can't help it.

Some text messages that my friends made me feel good, touched and happy:

  • The best friendship does not come when you are together. It comes when you are busy and realize that despite busy times, FRIENDS never stop caring.- Mardee
  • GuDmOrning pO...-987(I have a special feeling to 987. hehe. I did not text 987 for two months and this is the first message 987 sent after millions of years! Message sent: August 09, 2008 @ 5:45AM)
  • You can not leave footprints if you walk tiptoe. This is what living life means. You can never get what you want if you are scared to get hurt.-Jem
  • The memory of a friend is like a favorite song. No matter how many times it plays, you never get tired of it. Stay as you are as a song I love to hear.-Bez_Jham

  • Time may be so fast that we can not guess how long this friendship would stay, but even if time keeps us apart, even when chances push me out and away, remember- I will never stop to care because despite absence, between gaps and distances, the promise of you and me being friends, remains… lasts… and persists. It may not be under arms of togetherness and bonding, beyond spaces, beyond hindrances, friends till the end. This is my commitment.-Natalie

Regional Pre-Service Students Forum Held

“There are many challenges that are scattered in the path of being a teacher- ready to test, discourage, dismantle and ruin our will of being a teacher. But in so far as our eagerness to be one is concerned, we should not let those ICT, economic crisis and change in student’s attitude make a wall of disparity between us and our will of being a teacher. We should put in to our mind and heart to this profession because we are going to mold, guide and transform the youth into the state of being successful, worthy and good citizens of the country. I f we have still doubt on what we are going in to, better quit right at this moment for you will reckon the future of each student you will be teaching. In short, TEACHERS should be TEACHERS.”

This was my response(reaction statement) on the Regional Pre-Service Student Forum for Education Students with the Theme: Model Mentors: Catalysts of Development. I aired this in front of 47 school delegates around the bicol region at tha AQ Dome Aquinas University of Legazpi today(August 6, 2008) as I represent Secondary and Elementary Education Students of our school.

Why did I make a blog.

I am not familiar to "blogger" before. I don't even mind if there is existing.",) I am just fond of browsing the internet and visiting my friendster account. Until one day, when I was about to type http://www.f/.. then I accidentally tipped "b" instead of "f" so similar websites came out of the address bar. I have seen http://www.onitslastleg.blogspot.com/. I clicked on it and was amazed by the content. It is some kind of a journal. "Oh, This is Kuya Adrian's blog." I said. So, as filipino characters implies... I try to make one not thinking that I'll be enjoying my stay here in blogger.

I started thinking of a web name that I'll be using..hmm? After several seconds of inferrential thingking, I come to a generalization... a very hard decision to be made in my whole life.(hehe) So, I put my screen name in my e-mail. It is so difficult to think you know. And more difficult to put sponjmark before blogspot.com. Afterwards, http://www.sponjmark.blogspot.com/
was finally created.

I had posted many mindful writings and what so ever since then. I enjoyed my first three posts and the next are just "forcible" posts and or out of the blue posts. Just like now, readers. I think, are just wasting their time reading this post.(hehe, I just assume that someone reads my blog but actually thare's nothing. See for yourself the evidence:

FACTS: A visitor is represented by a green star. There is no GREEN STAR. Therefore, there is no visitor.(What a shame!hehe)

I don't know if someone would like to consume at least five minutes viewing my blog.(I am actually begging you to stay at least minutes more.hehe)

To add up excitement to my blog, I changed my banner. Look up there. (I asked a favor from Kuya Adi to make that one. Nice, isn't it?hehe)

But again, I enjoy visiting this site over and over and over again because of a very special purpose. I am able to express the REAL me here.( Just like this one.hehe)

She's the only woman whom I fell in love.

She makes me smile even in thoughest time of my life.
She is the reason why I study hard and try to earn awards.
She's the reason why I am alive.
She is the reason why I became this person who is strong enough to face diff'rent challenges in life.
She's the only person who advises and comforts me after getting angry.
She's the only girl whom I treated like a princess.
She's the only girl who I always think of every first sunday of May.
She is the reason why I try to be smile during aches.
She took large boundaries in my heart.
I can't live without her.
Now, I don't know how to continue my life without her.
How just I wish the lord would grant me to see you for the last time!
I love you...
I cherish you...
I missed you...

Bishop: P20 wage hike better than nothing

MANILA, Philippines - While militants may grumble over it, a Catholic Church official on Friday lauded the P20-wage hike ordered by the government, saying it can somehow have a ripple effect on many workers.
Antipolo Auxiliary Bishop Francisco de Leon said that with the recent salary hike, ordinary wage earner can now have a little more in their paychecks to help pay for basic necessities.
"For me, wage increase is needed because the prices in basic commodities are rising," he said in an interview on Church-run Radyo Veritas.
Excerpts of the interview were posted Friday night on the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines Web site (www.cbcpnews.com).
De Leon said that had the government not made a move, many people would surely have hard time coping with spiraling prices of goods.
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in Metro Manila earlier approved Wage Order No. 14 increasing the amount of minimum wage by P20 per day for private sector workers.
The P20 wage increase includes a P15 increase in basic pay and P5 cost-of-living allowance (COLA).
With the new increase, the highest minimum wage rate in the NCR is P382 per day for non-agriculture workers. - GMANews.TV

What about this?

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right.. Forget about the one's who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grabit with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Friends are like balloons; once you let them go, you might not get them back.Sometimes we get so busy with our own lives and problems that we may not even notice that we've let them fly away. Sometimes we are so caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we forget what's right and wrong. Sometimes we just don't realize what real friendship means until it is too late. I don't want to let that happen so I'm gonna tie you to my heart so I never lose you. Send this to all your friends including me and see how many you get back. Even send it to your balloons that you think have flown away forever. You may be surprised to see it return. Send this heart to everybody you like. You may also return it to me.

I thought it was but it wasn't.

I am not spending my summer vacation on wasteful things. I am taking my summer class for me to cope with my requirements this coming semester. I am enrolled in two subjects (Philippine History and Statistics). I do enjoy my summer class. I am not regreting of not going somewhere else to spend my vacation because I am not bored with my summer days.

At first, I have this thought that I will not be happy this summer because of my summer class. But now, I do not think about it anymore. I thought our history class will be a boring one(thinking that it was a twohour class, starts at SEVEN THIRTY AM and we are few in the class). But I am wrong, it is good to say that even if I am waking up very early in the morning just to catch up with the time, I learned a lot. Not just with the topics but also topics concerning our situation at present.

I think I will be missing my classmates here because I am sure that they will not be my classmates for the next semester because they we have different courses. But for sure, I'll gonna wait for the next school year to end. I'll gonna enroll again in the next summer class!!

People Always Leave

I am always wondrin' why do people always leave? people come and go. Sometimes they stay...but sometimes leave. Maybe they just simply could not stop their pace? or maybe they need to move on? A lot of maybes and probabilities. friends come and go, so as overs....they've been part of our lives. Someone so important. Someone you can not live without. But still can't refrain them from leaving. "Is it my fault?"-we often ask ourselves. why can't we make them stay? Oh, it's really ironic. those whom you leve leave while those whom you hate stay.

Colors.

RED. It depicts love. For the reason that when someone finds out that his mate is cheating, he will be able to produce RED blood out of the third party's body.

PINK. It symbolizes cheerfulness. Since it is light colored, it is feminine. A proof is when you go out of your house and see a lot of gays exposing themselves with a tight fitting PINK dress.

BLUE. The color itself emphasizes peace. No more walls. No more chain. no more selfishness and closed doors. Just like power ranger BLUE who fight for peace. Peace tayo!*_'

YELLOW. Yellow describes a famous personality. Cory Aquino is a living proof. She is so famous. A former president, an intelligent woman, a loving mother and what abou her all time YELOW outfit.

BROWN. It depicts the filipino culture. Unique yet so simple. the "color" also reminds me of dried BROWN "ebaks" of filipinos having their party along the river.

At first glance, Ejay doesn't look the typical promdi for he moves in a smooth and urbane manner. But as one gets to know him, the truth about his hometown begins to show, not that he tries to hide it. This shy lad from Oriental Mindoro speaks with straight and clear Tagalog, with a taint of Mindorenyo and a Visayan accent. Ejay grew up in the island of Pola where there is a scarcity of water and electricity, and watching TV Patrol and primetime teleseryes from the community TV, the only form of entertainment for the residents. Despite his timid ways acquired from his rural origins and strict Christian upbringing, Ejay is courageous and determined, ready to take on anything just to free his family from the poverty that ruined his parents's marriage. He dreams big for his family that even if he is granted one wish, he’d not ask for fame but for his family to be together again. He is hopeful that Pinoy Big Brother is the first big step to realizing this dream.

The True Blue Atenean
Being a housemate, Robi has to forego his high school graduation – and the chance to receive his award for excellence personally. Living up to being a man for others, though, he considers the chance to be a housemate a worthy compromise, not because it may be a claim to fame but as an opportunity to be a good influence to others.Aiming high, he hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps and pursue a career in medicine. A member of the baseball varsity and the honor roll as well, it seems all is set for Robi. One thing he can’t seem to get the hang of, unfortunately, is his love life. He got dumped both times he tried courting a girl, though he’s really persistent in pursuing the second. Too bad they don’t teach Courtship (Anti-torpe) 101 in high school. As he enters the PBB house, Robi has very positive thoughts on today’s youth. He perceives them to be well-rounded individuals, versatile and willing to try out a variety of things. He carries the same attitude towards his housemates, believing the best of them as he looks forward to hanging out with them despite the varied interests. Having the Atenean school spirit, will he still be able to think the same way when he lives in close quarters with someone from a rival school? Is he truly the good trophy boy that he seems to be? Will Kuya teach a summer course on courtship inside the yellow house? And will he have a summer love to boot?

The In-Chick
Nikki is not your typical hyper-active and expressive teen. At a young age, she has learned to take hold of her emotions and control her actions (read: prim and proper). Very in character for the daughter of a Chinese businessman, who has led a sheltered and comfortable life thus far. The biggest problem she’s had was the initial disapproval of her family towards her chosen guy, but even that is now resolved and all is right in her world. Everything is quite perfect for this little miss: a good life, a supportive family, and a blooming love life. Nikki thinks she’ll be able to get along quite well with the other housemates, as long as there are no plastic people in the group. Once you get past her shy and quiet demeanor, Nikki is friendly and ready to take on tasks and adventures. It is interesting to see how Nikki will be able to deal with the diverse personalities of the housemates. Will she still be able to keep her cool? How will Nikki cope with the simpler life in Kuya’s house? Moreover, will her young love stand the test of time and distance, especially with a number of cute boys in close proximity?
